"Don't let the belief that you are not strong or sensual enough hold you back from learning the life-changing art of pole dance!"
Seamless from the Start helps new pole dancers to learn fluidity without the struggle of pull-up moves (or the skin pain of on-the-pole moves).
At the same time, experienced pole dancers find an opportunity to slow down and focus on the details of their movement.
Sure, there are plenty of pole dance tutorials out there… but here's what makes Seamless From the Start different:

Upon purchase, you will immediately get access to the course on the hosting platform.
If you already have your pole, you can immediately begin exploring the Seamless sequences.

Sounds amazing! How does it work?
Seamless from the Start comprises 25 videos that build into five complete sequences.
In the process of learning the sequences or 'routines' you'll also be learning:
Here's an example of how each of the five sets builds into longer routines:
Lesson 1A: Weight shifts and sensuous spinal moves
Lesson 1B: Slinky turns and upright traveling transitions
Lesson 1C: Sensual floor-based movement
Lesson 1D: Getting up and down smoothly
Lesson 1E: Put all of the elements in videos 1A-1D together
Rather than learning disconnected individual skills, the lessons seamlessly move from a breathy warm-up phase to a skill-building phase, a flow phase, and an exploration phase.
As the lesson progresses and you begin cycling through the loop, you'll explore variations that help you make every movement more detailed, expressive, and musical.
"Yes, Marlo! I'm ready to invest in my fluidity with Seamless From the Start!"

HOW YOU WILL LEARN
Tricks and Choreography vs. Loops:
Most people learn to pole dance by learning isolated 'moves' or choreographed routines, which have a start and an end. You, however, will learn the Seamless from the Start sequences through "loops'.
A loop is a pattern of movement that ends where it began. Loops are a very effective way to simultaneously refine skills and explore variation-- without feeling overwhelmed by the open-endedness of improvisation. Plus, every loop alternates sides. This encourages bodily symmetry and strengthens your ability to connect all of your movements.
Time saving lesson structure
Finding the time to warm-up and practice can be challenging. If you don't love the warm-up process, you are less likely to dance regularly. In Seamless from the Start, the warm-up is BUILT into the videos, allowing you to begin working with the pole right away.
Perfect for learning to enjoy pole dance in smaller spaces:
One of the hardest things about home pole dance study for many people is the lack of space. Seamless from the Start was designed with smaller training spaces in mind, so you can enjoy the lessons--without constantly kicking your furniture.
Created by someone who *really* understands pole dance:
A student of dance for thirty years, and a teacher for twenty, Marlo Fisken is the creator of Flow Movement and the Floor Flow Teacher Training. She has led pole dance teacher trainings for nine years and is most known as a pioneer of contemporary pole dance.
I firmly believe pole dancing is for everyone. I’ve spent 13 years experimenting and innovating with pole dance, and it’s my goal to make it accessible, imaginative, and fun for everyone. You don’t need years of movement experience to begin on this journey of tuning in to and expressing yourself!
Pole dance does NOT require you to feel strong or flexible before you begin. Seamless from the Start challenges the notion that you have to be 'strong' or 'flexible' before you begin pole dancing. While some videos may provide a healthy challenge, the movements are easily modifiable, allowing you to progress and enjoy the sensation of your body in motion, regardless of your current abilities. Though you may find your strength challenged at times, you will NEVER be expected to lift yourself off the floor or invert in Seamless from the Start.
You don't need a dance background to learn to pole dance beautifully. That said, it helps to have a coach (like me!) to remind you to slow down, breathe, and savor all the movement goodness you are already capable of. This course will help you experience your fluidity right from the beginning of your journey.
I believe that EVERY body is a pole dancer's body. The only thing you need to be a pole dancer is a pole and a desire to move. With the patient instruction in Seamless from the Start, you can feel safe exploring movements that might be uncomfortable for you to practice in a group.
Choose something that does not inhibit your movement in any way and feels good when you put it on. Bottoms: You may wear anything from baggy sweatpants to a G-string. However, I recommend against wearing leggings that are super tight or restrictive. No need for a “control top” these type of garments interfere with your breath flow and freedom of movement. Top: Wear a sports bra or armless top. We will use contact points on the neck and underarm, so it's best if these areas can stick to the pole. When skins contracts the pole you will have more ‘stick’ and consequently will feel stronger. Kneepads: You will want kneepads at times (these are my absolute favorite ones). If you choose to find other kneepads, I recommend something that is not bulky and has neoprene inserts (rather than chunky foam ones). Socks: In the videos, I am wearing toe socks by Rolling Brand. Whether you wear socks or not depends on your flooring. It's crucial that your feet can pivot easily, but do not feel too slippery. Different socks have different slipperiness levels, so experiment with your floor. You should feel both free to slide and in control of your movement. Besides a Laptop or Mobile device and a Pole, you will need: Kneepads An anti-persperant grip aid A small towel to clean the pole A rubbing alcohol/water mix in a spray bottle to clean the pole
Yes, you could, however the videos are instructed with barefoot movement in mind. Dancing in stilettos requires some additional safety considerations, so if you choose to wear shoes, be extra mindful with your movement.
Most of the videos can be done on carpet, though you may need to explore a foot covering that allows you to pivot and slide comfortably. There are a few movements in the course that are based on a type of sliding that’s only possible on smooth flooring. However, you will still be able to do them without sliding (sliding and carpet is NOT a good idea).
You don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do. However, many people feel resistant to performing self-touch when they are focused on what it looks like, rather than what it feels like. Before writing off self-touch as something you don’t want to do, consider this: *Self-touch can a profound way to down-regulate the nervous system and promote calm *Your body is part of the space you dance in. When you feel confident touching the space you dance in, you feel confident dancing. Touching yourself is for you. -Focus on what your hand is experiencing (rather than your mind) -Focus on what the part under your hand is experiencing (rather than your mind) -Stick to a type of touch that feels comforting and makes you more aware of your skin. -Pause with your hand resting on your body and see if you focus on the sensations of contact.
If you derive your sense of value from doing showy tricks and tend to seek opportunities to verify that you are at a certain ‘level’, this is probably not the product for you. However, if you are interested in approaching the course with a ‘beginner’s mind’, you have a unique opportunity to re-consider some of the most fundamental ways that you move with the pole.
My specialty as a teacher is helping people who do not come from a dance life find their fluidity.
