What is Floor Flow, anyway?

Floor Flow is an all-levels methodology that promotes deep focus and body suppleness through cyclical patterns of floor-based movement.

Get swishy, get (s)low, and enjoy the ride.

The teacher training, FFTT, shows you how to lead it ⬆️

💭  Imagine this:

You are at ease on the floor.

All of your focus is on the connection between your moving body, your breath, the ground, and the sound.

You feel the entirety of yourself as you melt, swish, and spiral through space.

You are captivatingly, naturally, fluid.

You aren't thinking about what you should do next or how it should look.

You know how to drop into the life-giving pleasure of deep focus.

This is what it feels like to Floor Flow.

...Now, imagine being the one to bring that experience to others.

More than ever, people need tools to help them feel at ease in their bodies.

As a Floor Flow teacher, you will know how to help others experience freedom of movement--perhaps for the first time in their lives.

When you take the Floor Flow Teacher Training, some people will think you are investing in noodling around on the floor and luxuriating in the sensual pleasures of floor smearing.

They would be correct 😉.

As a Floor Flow Teacher Trainee, you'll:

✨  Have an opportunity to rewire the way you move

✨  Learn to lead science-backed (but far-from-dry) embodiment practices

✨  Know how to guide others to become incredibly fluid and imaginative movers too

Not everyone understands floorwork by looking at it.

'Why are they rolling around like that?" they say.

But those who Flow, Know.

Indulge in unreasonably enjoyable movement practices.

Learn teaching techniques that blow minds.

In The Floor Flow Teacher Training, you’ll spend four months developing the skills to help others drop into a state where they say: “I didn’t know rolling on the ground could feel so good” “That was the first time I moved without thinking” “How the hell was that 30 minutes?! I thought it was 5…”

👋🏿 FAQ

Questions? Curiosities? Fantastic, I love both of those things.

  • 😯 What if I have to miss online sessions? Is it all recorded?

No problem! The recordings will be uploaded to your video library within 24 hours—as soon as technology makes it possible. There will be many chances for you to get live and direct coaching from a senior Floor Flow teacher or me. Plus, you have lifetime access to the videos.

  • 🕺🏿 I'm not a dancer. Do I need any prior training or prerequisites?

Nope! Not at all. Floor Flow is a highly accessible practice. While most people who attend FFTT have experience with floor movement, all are welcome.

  • 🤸🏽 Do I need any particular abilities?

No, all are welcome. Everything is modifiable. In fact, a large part of what we explore in the training is how to make a basic movement form or concept adapt to different needs and desires. For individuals with disabilities and accessibility needs, please notify us of what we can do to optimize your learning experience.

  • 🗣️ Do i need to be able to teach in English to participate?

No. The training is taught in English. But you do not have to submit homework in English. If you do not speak English but would like to participate, contact us.

  • 😎 I'm not a movement teacher. Can I take it?

Yes! Many people take FFTT who are not teachers. Read what Alex M. had to say about it: "[Marlo] doesn't cater the course to "getting a certificate to become a teacher," it was just as relevant for those of us who simply wanted to further our movement education/practice through a week of intense learning and sharing. This "participant" accessibility is further increased by Marlo's brilliant use of descriptive language throughout the course."

  • 👌🏻 Can I teach what I learn in the FFTT?

YOU BETTER. Just kidding. But really, the best way to learn anything is to teach it to others. The only thing you are asked not to do is create a teacher training based on the material or to teach a class by the name Floor Flow unless you have tested out and are licensed to do so.

  • 📜 How do I get Fully Floor Flow "certified"?

If you would like to receive the "Floor Flow Certified" credential, you will need to complete the following 90 days after the end of the training: **To receive your certificate, you must do the following within 2 months of the training:** - A video submission of a you performing a Loop - A video of you teaching your loop to others with a write-up of your process - A final mini-project (FF applied) - Complete a quiz - Engage with and comment on two other people’s projects You may teach content from the FFTT in your classes as you wish. ❗️However, licensing, which allows you to teach Floor Flow classes of your own, is NOT INCLUDED. This involves an additional three-month one-on-one mentorship process. You can learn more about the fees associated with that by writing [email protected]

  • ✴️ Can I get Continuing Education credits (CEC/CEU)?

Many certifications and licenses require some kind of yearly credits to maintain certification. FFTT is not affiliated with any other organization. However, some people have successfully applied the FFTT to their certifications by submitting an outline of the training. However, each country has different organizations and rules. Contact your certifying organization and us if you have further questions.

  • 👀 How long will I have access to The Floor Flow Teacher Training materials?

    2 years.

  • 👚 What clothing or equipment do I need to participate?

Thin kneepads and clothing that covers your shoulders and legs are recommended. Stable WiFi and a computer or tablet device are needed.

  • 🧹What kind of space/flooring will I need?

To be honest, Floor Flow is most enjoyable when you can slide, spread out, and roll about without colliding with things. So, I recommend participating on a smooth, clean floor and having an area that is 12x12 ft plus (4x4 meters). However, you are welcome to join, even if you do not have a space like this. Carpet is okay (and even more comfortable for some of the experience) but we will do sliding and spinning techniques at times. I will notify you in advance when we will do the particularly slidey movements in case you can be on a slidey floor those days. Adaptability is at the heart of Floor Flow, so there are ways to participate and play along no matter your space.

  • 🫣 What if I need to cancel or postpone my spot in the training?

If you need to cancel your spot in the Floor Flow Teacher Training, you may be eligible for a partial refund as follows: * Greater than 90 days prior to the start of the Training: Full refund minus a $75 processing fee if paid in one payment. If paid on a payment plan, one payment of the four-month plan is forfeited. * 89-60 days prior to the start of the Training: 75% of tuition paid is refundable minus a $75 processing fee. * 59-16 days until the start of the Training: 50% of tuition paid, if paid in full, is refundable minus a $75 processing fee. If paid on a payment plan, any payment is forfeited. * Fewer than 16 days until the start of the Training: no refunds. If you have paid in full, you can use 50% of the payment as a down-payment to secure a spot in a future Training. Registration transfer is an option provided that the participant notify Flow Movement of the new participant, the new student is approved by Flow Movement, and then finalize the financial arrangement between the participant and his/her replacement. If an event is canceled by Flow Movement for any reason, a full refund shall be provided.

🧜🏼‍♀️ A Final Message From Marlo...

Whether you are aware of it or not yet, it's there.

I want to help you, experience YOU.

There is a lifetime of inspired movement and brilliant cueing inside of you. I know it.
